Iranian Association for UN Studies joins people across the world in expressing condolences and paying tribute to the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr Kofi Annan.
His inspiring and meaningful achievements throughout more than fifty years of service to the United Nations across different ranks, and later activities, highlight his deep and sincere belief in founding ideals and values of the United Nations: devoting himself to peacemaking, human rights, and economic development, to make the world a fairer, better and safer place.
For the United Nations and those inspired by Kofi Anann, ‘death of such persona is not a minor affair’ (Rumi).
