Report Martyrdom of Commander Qassem Soleimani from perspective of International law

Iranian Association for UN Studies (IAUNS) with the cooperation of Humanities House of Thinkers analyzed Martyrdom of Commander Qassem Soleimani from perspective of International law by holding a seminar on 8 January 2020.

Speeches were given by Dr.Ziaei Bigdeli, Dr.Mohsen Abdollahi, Dr.Pouria Askari, Dr.Mohammad Habibi Majandeh, and Dr.Amir-Saed Vakil.

At the beginning of the seminar, the president of IAUNS, Dr.Nasrin Mosaffa expressed her condolences on Martyrdom of Commander Qassem Soleimani and thanked the keynote speakers of the seminar for their contributions and attendances.

Then Dr.Mohsen Abdollahi -a person who is the chairman- elaborated on the principle of the International law, Humanitarian Law, Human Rights, Provileges and Immunities, Maintenance of international peace and security, Rights of self defence, Prohibition of the threat or use of force in accordance with the subjects.

After that, Dr.Ziaei Bigdeli made some invaluable remarks on the justice, respect to obligations, principles of the equal rights, equality, independence, non-interference in the domestic affairs of other states.

After Dr.Ziaei Bigdeli, Dr.Mohammad Habibi Majandeh gave a speech on prohibition of the threat or use of force in accordance with Article 51 of the charter of the UN.

The forth speaker, Dr.Pouria Askari discussed the issues of humanitarian Law with a focus on Humanity, Distinction, Proportionality, Necessity, Precaution.

and finally Dr. Amir-Saed Vakil explained that all states shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state.

At the end, time was allocated to questions from the audiences, answers to which brought so many emerging challenges of international humanitarian law to the audience.
